Below are a breakdown of Miniature Goat Heights for Grade.

The Australian Miniature Goat MUST be measured at 3yrs of age and upgraded to adult status. Animals are only recognised as Australian Miniature Goats after they have been height verified and met Grade, height and breed requirements as three year olds. Animals must be re-measured again at 4yrs of age.

3yr old Bucks (Grade A & Purebred) are to be measured by or in the presence of a Qualified Veterinarian or Foundation Breeder (other than the owner).

Adult Bucks 53.3cm and under and Adult Does 46cm and under are to be height verified by or in the presence of a Qualified Veterinarian to be considered for registration.

The following is a breakdown of Heights for Miniature Goat Grades only and does not include Grade requirements. Please visit the Australian Miniature Goat Registry's link on the home page to view a more detailed explanation on Australian Miniature Goat Height requirements or for further information please visit our MGBA Grades page.

Please note
: An allowance of one inch will be made for Nuwby Bucks.

Overheight Animals
Overheight animals may be used in the development of the miniature breed with their progeny being eligible for inclusion in the lower grade section of the AMGR Studbook provided such progeny meet the height requirements for the breed.

Additional Information- Please check with the registry for specifications relating to actually measuring a Miniature Goat and if Veterinary presence at measuring is required for the Grade you are wanting to register.

The right way and the wrong way.If you are measuring incorrectly you can easily add on or take off and extra inch or so of you correct height. It is important you learn to stand your animals the right way and measure correctly.
