Welcome
message from the President
A
very warm welcome to the Website of
the Miniature Goat Breeders Association
of Australia Inc. My name is Stephen
Groth and I am the current President
of the MGBA, and the taller half of
Serendipity Stud situated in the South
Burnett town of Blackbutt in Queensland.
I am also one of the Breed Standard
Advisors of the MGBA. I ask you to
please have a look at our committee
member's page, and get to know your
committee. The committee was formed
from a group who have made available
their time to assist in promotions,
shows, publications, setting up and
maintaining our website, breed advice,
and all the paperwork and inquires.
It is a group of very friendly and
approachable people who are happy
to assist, and welcome questions comments
and suggestions from all our members.
Sue Ludwig and the AMGR have done
the hard yards and the groundwork
getting the Miniature Goat breed where
it is today, and the Association was
a natural progression with now over
120 studs registered with the AMGR.
Please have a look around our website
where you will find loads of information.
Feel free to send in your articles,
stud profiles and fun stories to Karyn
our Publications Editor.
I look forward to meeting many more
of our members and seeing many of
you at shows, fun days, meetings and
promotions. So please introduce yourselves
and say g'day.
Steve Groth

PRESIDENTS REPORT MGBAA
Inc. Meeting 4 th October, 2008
The decision to incorporate State
representatives has been implemented,
and I would like to welcome all our
new State Reps to our busy hive of
activity. It is a great step forward
for the Association, and will bring
much support to all our members, as
well as being a hub for enquiries
in each State. I would also like to
give a big welcome to all our new
members, and great to see many already
on the message board.
It has been a huge boost to the Miniature
goat breed to see them out and about
at Shows and in the public eye. Many
Studs are working together in promotional
activities, the highlight being a
segment with Dr. Harry on Better Homes
and Gardens. I feel the Incorporation
of an Association has inspired many
Studs to get out and about again in
promoting their animals. Access to
promotional brochures and presentation
guidelines will be made available
to the State Reps for enquiries and
to keep public presentation at a high
level. It is great to see so many
dedicated breeders Australia wide.
I'm very much looking forward to our
first Magazine, and thank all who
have taken the time to contribute,
and of course a special thanks to
our Magazine editors Mal and Karyn,
who have likely not had much sleep
over the past few weeks. I have personally
had comments on the quality and professionalism
of our website, which is a huge tribute
to all the work Simone tirelessly
puts into it. I would also like to
thank our Secretary Sue Ludwig for
the many hours put into getting our
Shows up and running, and Stewarding
our last Show. I'm sure a friendly
face eased the nerves of many showing
for the first time.
The message board has been running
hot, with members getting to know
each other, and offering assistance
to each other in many areas. I have
had phone calls where one stud has
assisted another in their area with
colostrum or support. It is commendable
the network of assistance that is
available within our group of members.

Groth President MGBA INC.
